We came, we saw, we were conquered by the soul-destroying hagwon machine. This blog starts with the chronicle of my and my former partner's 8 months working as ESL teachers at a private academy in South Korea, and the two months following our resignation in which we backpacked Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia. After three months volunteering with a conservation corps in Arizona, I spent six weeks backpacking by myself in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia and then came back to Flagstaff and did a 900-hour (6 month) Americorps term with the same conservation corps. A series of events led me to realize I needed to go traveling again ASAP, so I've booked a flight to Dublin with the intent of ending my trip 6 months later in Cape Town, South Africa (but we all know how well these long-term plans work out). After that I'd like to get a seasonal job with the National Park Service or National Forest Service, but who knows.
Suggestions welcome as to where to go and what to do with my life.
Ask me anything!
