We came, we saw, we were conquered by the soul-destroying hagwon machine. This blog starts with the chronicle of my and my former partner's 8 months working as ESL teachers at a private academy in South Korea, and the two months following our resignation in which we backpacked Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia. After three months volunteering with a conservation corps in Arizona, I spent six weeks backpacking by myself in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. We're back in Flagstaff for another 6 months to continue conservation work (now with 100% more chainsaws!), but this time as official Americorps members. As of now, my three-month plans keep unraveling like old sweaters, but I'm hoping to go back to Europe for a month or two in the fall, and then? I wish I knew! Suggestions welcome as to where to go and what to do with my life.
Ask me anything!
